Studio 7 Art Gallery’s brief was for a responsive website that was easy for customers to navigate, find the products and information they wanted, and make purchases. The content for the site was vibrant and visual so the layout was kept sleek and simple, as not to detract from the products’ appeal, and to keep navigation quick & easy.

1. Dream it.

It all begins with an idea. Hand sketched wireframes were created for various device sizes, based loosely on the existing app design and user research. To view the app first click here.
2. Build it.

The sketches were then developed into digital wireframes, before linking components to create lo-fi prototypes.
3. Share it.

User research allowed testing of the main user flows and also gathered valuable insights on how to further develop the website structure & layout.
4. Re-work it.

After collating research data the designs were improved, and placeholder text & images were added creating hi-fi mockups.
5. Prototype it.

By linking the pages, buttons and menus, the hi-fi mock-ups evolved into prototypes ready for further testing.
6. Lessons Learned

Key take-aways from this project include the importance of creating re-usable components, style guides and layout choices early in the design process.
